Terms of Use
Blue Collar Guild, LLC Version 1.0 · Effective 30 September 2026
The short version
Blue Collar Guild is an advertising service. The businesses listed here pay to be listed. We do not employ them, supervise their work, endorse them, or guarantee anything they do. We publish what we can check and say plainly when we can't check something. Hiring anyone you find here is your decision, and any agreement is between you and them.
The rest of this page is the same thing said carefully.
1. Who this covers
These Terms cover everyone who uses thebluecollarguild.com. If you advertise here, the Advertiser Agreement also applies and controls where the two differ.
You must be 18 or older to send a quote request or leave a review.
2. What the Guild does
2.1 We publish a directory of trade businesses in Tennessee and a map showing which counties each covers. Listed businesses pay a monthly or annual fee.
2.2 We are not a contractor, a broker, or a referral agency that vouches for anyone. We don't perform work, quote work, schedule work, set prices, inspect work, or hold money between you and a business.
2.3 Which businesses appear, and where they appear, is influenced by what they pay. We say so on the page, not just here.
3. What we check, and what we don't
3.1 Where a business gives us a state contractor licence number, we match it against public Tennessee records and publish the number, classification, monetary limit, expiry, and the date we last checked. Records change after we check them.
3.2 Where a trade requires no state licence at the job sizes advertised, we say that.
3.3 Where a business has given us no licence number, we say that too, and we say it advertises only work under $25,000 — the threshold at which Tennessee requires a licence. We do not say a business is unlicensed, because our not having a record is not proof of that.
3.4 We require every member to give us a current certificate of general liability insurance, and we hold it. We record what the certificate says. We do not confirm it with the insurer.
3.5 We do not: run background or criminal checks, verify skills, inspect work, check bonding, confirm permits, or investigate complaints beyond what our Complaint Policy describes.
3.6 Always check for yourself before work begins or money changes hands — licence status at the Tennessee Board for Licensing Contractors, and insurance directly with the carrier.
4. Using the site
You may use the site to find and contact businesses. You may not:
- scrape, harvest, or bulk-copy listings, contact details, or reviews;
- use contact details for marketing, recruiting, or resale;
- submit false quote requests or reviews;
- impersonate anyone, or submit anyone else's contact details as your own;
- interfere with the site, probe it for vulnerabilities, or work around access limits;
- use the site to break the law.
We can refuse or withdraw access to anyone, for any of the above.
5. Quote requests
5.1 A quote request goes to the one business you chose, and to nobody else. We never blast it to several businesses, and we never sell it to a lead broker. The Guild keeps a record that the request happened — which business, which county, what kind of work — so that we can count it and answer questions about it, but we do not keep your message.
5.2 Sending one is your consent for that business to contact you about that request. It is not consent for anything else, and members are contractually forbidden from using it for anything else.
5.3 We can't make a business reply, quote fairly, show up, or do good work.
6. Reviews
Reviews are covered by our Review Policy. In short: we publish reviews from people who hired the business, we read every one before it posts, we don't edit what you wrote, and we don't take truthful reviews down because a member asked. Reviews are the reviewer's opinion and experience, not ours.
7. Content and copyright
7.1 Listing photographs, descriptions, and logos belong to the members who uploaded them. Reviews belong to the people who wrote them. The site itself — its design, maps, shields, code, and text — belongs to the Guild.
7.2 Don't copy anything here for your own commercial use without permission.
7.3 Copyright complaints — designated agent. Our agent for notices of claimed copyright infringement, designated with the U.S. Copyright Office under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c), is:
> Copyright Agent, Blue Collar Guild, LLC > 4590 East Robertson Rd, Cross Plains, TN 37049 > dmca@thebluecollarguild.com
Send the material, where it appears on the site, your contact details, and a statement of good-faith belief and accuracy. We remove infringing material on a valid notice and terminate repeat infringers.
8. Third parties
The site links to businesses' own websites and social pages. We don't control those and aren't responsible for them.
9. Disclaimers
9.1 THE SITE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
9.2 We make no warranty about any listed business — their skill, honesty, licensing, insurance, availability, pricing, or the quality or safety of their work.
9.3 We don't warrant that the site is uninterrupted, error-free, or that listings and map data are complete or current.
10. Limitation of liability
10.1 To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Guild is not liable for any loss, damage, injury, cost, or expense arising from work performed by, or any dealings with, a business you found here. That is between you and them.
10.2 We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages.
10.3 Our total liability to any site visitor for any claim relating to the site is limited to one hundred dollars ($100), or the amount you paid us in the past twelve months if greater. Visitors pay us nothing, which is the point: we are not a party to your transaction.
10.4 Some states don't allow certain limits. Where that's so, these limits apply as far as the law allows.
11. Indemnity
You will indemnify the Guild against claims arising from your misuse of the site, your breach of these Terms, or content you submit.
12. Disputes
Tennessee law governs. Disputes go to the state or federal courts in Robertson County, Tennessee, or to small claims court. Claims are brought individually, not as a class. Before filing, email disputes@thebluecollarguild.com and give us thirty days.
13. Changes
We may change these Terms. The version and effective date at the top change with them, and material changes are announced on the site for thirty days. Continuing to use the site accepts the current version.
